Vicky Kaushal replaces Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Saare Jahaan Se Achcha’

After much controversy around the male lead for ‘Saare Jahaan Se Achcha’, the film has finally gotten its hero. Shah Rukh Khan, who was supposed to play the male lead, backed out of the film at the last moment and newbie Vicky Kaushal has now stepped into SRK’s shoes.

The film is a biopic that will be based on the real life story of Rakesh Sharma, who happens to be the first Indian to travel in space. According to Indian media reports, Vicky has given his nod to the film.

The producers of Saare Jahaan Se Accha, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur have finalised Vicky after his appreciated performance in ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’.

Interestingly, Aamir Khan was the first choice to play the lead role in the film but he recommended SRK’s name for it. SRK, however, walked out of the project after the failure of his last release ‘Zero’. It is believed that the actor didn’t want another space film for his career.
