Solar energy has the least negative impact on the environment compared to any other energy source. It does not emit greenhouse gases because electricity is produced from sunlight rather than burning fossil fuels. Being Green Energy it also has numerous other environmental benefits.
Addressing the energy needs, countries around the world are utilizing the renewable energy sources. Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL), instep with global initiatives, is the pioneer in Pakistan industry to use such large solar energy for captive industrial use. FCCL installed 12.5 MW Solar Power Plant in May 2019 that is capable of producing 19,750 Megawatt Hour of energy annually. A great contribution towards the energy generation, environment sustainability and Greener Pakistan.

Go Green Initiatives by Fauji Cement
Production of Green Cement
Carbon dioxide emissions in clinker production is a source of pollution. There is a need to reduce the CO2 footprint for which FCCL has launched a GREEN Cement (PAMIR) that is produced with 20% less CO2 emissions. FCCL is pioneer in introducing GREEN Cement in Pakistan.
Waste Heat Recovery Plant
Cement industry consumes lot of energy and a large part of it is wasted by releasing hot gases to atmosphere. To utilize this resource, FCCL has installed two Waste Heat Recovery Plants of 9 & 12 MW each. Thus saving energy and reducing emissions.
Water Recycling & Rain Water Harvesting
Fauji Cement recently constructed two large water reservoirs for rain water harvesting and waste water recycling. These steps will help water conservation and recharge sub soil water table.
Tree Plantation Drives
FCCL is leading in tree plantation drive, to make Pakistan Clean and Green. It has in last two years planted 25,000 trees in and around the Plant and donated over 40,000 plants to District/Local Government and adjoining schools/villages.
