Punjab Information Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that opposition has badly failed in gathering general public and the so-called leaders are left with no other option except hurling false allegations.
Addressing a press conference here Thursday, he said that opposition may oppose PTI at their freewill but if they are found opposing the country then they will be given a befitting reply. He said those giving call for black-day should inform the general public that they want to stage protest because Prime Minister Imran Khan has undertaken a successful visit to the USA and the narrative of Pakistan has been acknowledged at international level.
The minister said that under the garb of saving their corruption and all other attempts to provoke the traders' community has met with utter failure. The general public of Lahore has rejected the corrupt elements and have declared their so-called black-day in order to save their corruption as 'Youm-e-Pannah'.
In all the cities of Punjab, especially in Lahore the business life and traffic remained normal. The people of Pakistan have given a clear message to the opposition that they want to run business and their loyalties are with Prime Minister Imran Khan and with the government in every respect. He said that people reposed their complete trust on the credibility of Prime Minister Imran Khan everywhere.
Nawaz Sharif and company were tainted with stigma in the past and their present record is also labelled with corruption along with court stamp. He put a question that how come PML-N and PPP do not stop praising each other today? Only one year before their speeches made during general elections campaign is part of record which is proving to be an embarrassment for both of them. Both these parties have tried to prove each other very corrupt and also taunted each other of disqualification.
Mian Aslam Iqbal said that this is a unity between discarded and blotted opposition which will never meet with success. He said that people are siding with Imran Khan with a sense of pride and the narrative of Pakistan of discarding aid has also been widely acknowledged in the USA and it is a great success and achievement of Prime Minister Imran Khan to carry the relations forward with the USA on equal footing. He said that opposition is playing the politics of negative tactics but Pakistan has changed and now corruption will not be concealed.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has given such awareness to the people of Pakistan under which they will never support such negative elements. The minister further said that opposition may raise hue and cry of any intensity but accountability will be done indiscriminately. We are heading towards the destination of making not two rather one Pakistan and will soon accomplish our aim.
To a question, Mian Aslam Iqbal said that citizens of Pakistan have bulldozed the narrative of opposition which will prove to be a last nail in their coffin. The administration offered them a substitute place at Nasir Bagh to stage a protest but they could not bring such a large number of people so they resorted to stubbornness.
Mian Aslam Iqbal said that if opposition staged their protest against corruption then we would have provided them with logistic support but unfortunately opposition parties have no agenda but to save the corrupt elements along with their corruption.
The spokesman for Chief Minister Punjab Dr Shahbaz Gill while criticizing the opposition during the press conference said that they should not give us lecture on democracy. The Punjab government did not grant permission to hold a rally on Mall Road in the light of Lahore High Court judgment. They only speak bluffs and general public is not willing to consider their narrative or any other viewpoint seriously.
