Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures started Tuesday on a down note, but climbed back to end the day unchanged on short covering, traders said. CBOT September soft red winter wheat ended the day unchanged at $4.87-1/4 per bushel.
Wheat yield potential in south central North Dakota is trending above average, with the crop benefiting from ideal weather following a wet spring that delayed planting, scouts on the Wheat Quality Council's annual US spring wheat tour found on Tuesday. K.C. September hard red winter wheat ended up 2-1/4 cents at $4.31-1/2 a bushel, and MGEX September spring wheat slipped 3/4 cent to $5.20-1/2 a bushel.
