The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has sought reports from different government departments, including Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) as what steps they have taken in their respective areas to protect the environment in light of the Water Commission's directives. Officials at SEPA said the departments were bound to take steps as per their domain and ordered by Water Commission to protect the environment.
In this regard, letters have been sent to secretary local government to seek their reply within fifteen days about the steps taken by them. Similarly, a letter has also been issued to SSWMB to seek their reply about upgradation of landfill sites at Jam Chakro and Gondpass, likewise letters have been sent to DHA, SITE association and other stakeholders to get their respective replies.
