A Canadian company has shown its interest for setting up modern solar power plants, to meet the growing electricity demand in the country. The representative of the Canadian company Faiz Ahmed Faizi and Chief Executive Grace Solar Pakistan Nouman Khan in a meeting with the chief minister briefed him on the modern technology of solar energy and performance of new panels.
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that Punjab has huge potential to benefit from solar energy and new technology will be used for this purpose. He said the Canadian company should prepare off-grid solution in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Cholistan and Thal. The feasibility report will be prepared after survey in these areas. He said electricity will be provided through modern solar power plants in the area where there is no transmission line.
Provincial Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik, chief secretary, additional chief secretary home, principal secretary to CM, secretary energy, chief of the Special Monitoring Unit, chief executive officer Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Company, MD Punjab Power Development Board, president Canadian company Projex International Faiz Ahmed Faizi attended the meeting.
Moreover, Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik presented a cheque for Rs 200 million of the profit earned from the Bahawalpur solar project.
Usman Buzdar said, "The PTI government has earned profit thought best management and professional approach, as we have improved the performance of institutions and departments through solid measures."
Furthermore, talking to a delegation of the District Bar Association Multan led by its president Nazim Khan, the CM assured the lawyers of resolving their problems. He said he is himself a lawyer and is aware of the problems of lawyers.
