Speedster Hasan Ali aims for series after win in first ODI

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali played a pivotal role in Pakistan success against South Africa in the first One Day

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali played a pivotal role in Pakistan success against South Africa in the first One Day International (ODI). The speedster is now eager to win the 50-over series, after a 3-0 Test whitewash against the Proteas.

“This is our first win; we have a good ODI side and are looking forward to win this series,” said Hasan, while talking to media, on the eve of second ODI against South Africa. Hasan’s economical figures of 42 runs for one wicket proved crucial to restrict South Africa to a total of 266 runs.

Talking about South Africa’s inning with the bat, the fast bowler stated that he was surprised over why the hosts didn’t go for runs in the final overs. “Obviously we were surprised; the South Africans were in a good position till the 40 overs- they got eight wickets in hand and I don’t know why they didn’t go for big runs,” added Hasan.

With the series 1-0, Pakistan will now face off against South Africa in the second ODI of the series in Durban on Tuesday, January 22.
