KARACHI: Three ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V NYK Kai and Nicolai Maersk carrying containers were allotted berths at Qasim Internodal Container terminal on Thursday, Port Qasim sources said Friday.
Another ship M.V Lion scheduled to load 15,00 tonnes of rice also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period.
Berth occupancy remained 46% on Thursday where a total of six ships namely C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V NYK Kai, C.V Nickolai Maersk, M.V Florida-II, STX Daisy and M.T Estia are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, urea, and diesel oil respectively.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 114,187 tonnes, comprises 60,929 tonnes imports and 53,258 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 4,459 containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours.
Three container ship Safmarine Ngami, NYK Kai and Nicolai Maersk sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
M.V Ever Shining carrying 55,000 tonnes coal is expected to take berth at iron ore and coal berth on Friday while four more ships C.V Alexander, C.V MSC Reunion, M.T Qubaa and M.T Karachi are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, according to the port sources.
