KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where two ships carrying containers and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Terminal on Thursday, 15th Jan, 2012.
Meanwhile for more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and rice also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 35 percent at the Port Qasim on Thursday where total number of four ships namely CGM Chopin, Florida II, STX Daisy and MV. Estia are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 32,201 tonnes, comprising 23,236 tonnes imports and 8,965 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 870 containers (Boxes) was handle at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
