Dawn says it faces hacking attempts

A English-language Dawn is facing hacking attempts, the publication said on Tuesday. Dawn Media Group said unknown hackers are constantly trying to penetrate its official social media accounts and staff accounts. "Hackers and malicious groups attempt to damage reputations and stir up virulent and negative campaigns to serve their agenda, and Dawn has already been a target of such online campaigns in the past," a statement issued by the group said.
It's not clear who is behind the attempts, and the publication did not name anyone. It came amid reports that the government is about to release findings of an inquiry into a controversial report in which Dawn reported that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif asked the military and ISI to stop supporting some of the militant groups.
