ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s textile sector exports increased by 1.83 percent, reaching USD 16.665 billion during the first 11 months of the 2025-26, compared to USD 16.365 billion in the same period of 2024-25, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported on Tuesday.

According to PBS data, the textile commodities which contributed to exports of USD16.665 billion included bed wear, the exports of which increased by 2.23 percent to USD2.902 billion during the months under review, as compared to the exports of USD 2.839 billion last year, while the export of knitwear with an increase of 1.03 percent reached USD 4.602 billion compared with USD4.555 billion during the same period of last year.

The other commodities that witnessed trade growth included made-up articles (excluding towels and bed-wear, the export of which surged by 1.17 percent to USD 721.6 million from USD 713.26 million, raw cotton by 199.20 percent to USD 2.606 million from USD 0.871 million, and cotton yarn by 13.35 percent to USD701.1 million from USD 618.53 million.

The export of all other textile materials went up by 9.24 percent to USD735.7 million from USD673.47million, and ready-made garment exports also witnessed an increase of 5.43 percent, reaching USD 3.973 billion from USD 3.768 billion last year.

The textile commodities that witnessed negative trade growth included cotton cloth, the export of which declined by 7.43 percent from USD1.686 billion to USD1.560 billion, while the export of towels decreased by 0.01 percent from USD995.423 million to USD 995.34 million.

Similarly, the export of yarn, other than cotton yarn, also decreased by 8.44 percent from USD30.776 million to USD28.086 million, art silk and synthetic textile by 9.73 percent from USD365.708 million to USD 330.108 million, and tents, canvas, and trapulin by 4.29 percent from USD 117.769 million to USD 112.721 million.

Meanwhile, on a Year-on-Year (YoY) basis, the textile exports from the country witnessed an increase of 7.13 percent during May 2026 as compared to the corresponding month of last year. In May 2025, the country’s textile group exports were recorded at USD1.50 billion, against exports of USD1.640 billion registered in May 2026

On a Month-on-Month (MoM) basis, the textile exports valued at USD1.680 billion registered an increase of 10.80 percent in May 2026, compared tothe exports of USD1.480 billion in April 2026, according to PBS data.

According to PBS, Pakistan’s exports in May 2026 totalled USD2.690 billion (provisional) compared to USD2.468 billion in April 2026, showing an increase of 9 percent over April 2026 and of 0.71 percent as compared to USD2.671 billion in May, 2025.
