ISLAMABAD: Chairman, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Muhammad Saleem Baig Saturday urged to launch effective enforcement campaign against illegal Indian DTH, C-Line and Android Boxes and a complete crackdown against its sales and associated activities.

While addressing Officers and Staff at Regional Office Karachi during a visit on Saturday, he instructed PEMRA officers and staff to coordinate with other law enforcement agencies such as Federal Investigation Agency, Customs Intelligence, Police and Rangers so that no room could be left for those indulged in this illegal business.

He further stressed upon that orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan issued in this regard should be complied with in letter and spirit and no laxity should be shown as illegal proliferation of Indian DTH is not only detrimental to our social, cultural and religious values but also causing huge financial loss to the country’s exchequer.

Therefore, all out efforts should be made to make this campaign effective as this drive will also pave way for promoting Pakistani DTH, which would be launched, soon.

The Chairman, emphasized to implement orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan with regard to Indian content and channels, passed today and asked them to ensure zero tolerance to Indian Channels as well as content on Pakistani TV channels and cable networks.
