Board of Director (BoD) Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has formally approved the relief of Rs 3 per unit to industrial consumers as per announcement of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The relief will be immediately implemented and in case of already issued bills it may be revised. This was directed during PESCO's BoD 105th meeting held here at Wapda House, Peshawar with Chairman Malik Muhammad Asad Khan in the chair.
The BoD hailed the appointment of Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai as CEO PESCO and thanked Prime Minister of Pakistan and Ministry of Water & Power for this appointment.
The BoD was of the view that Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai is a competent and honest man and he has the ability to turn the company into a profitable entity and come up to the expectations of the Board of Directors. The BoD discussed the measures taken for turning PESCO into a profitable entity.
Speaking in the meeting, the Chairman BoD PESCO Malik Muhammad Asad Khan said that they have to improve the performance of the company and to develop it as a "consumer friendly company" and they have to turn it into a profitable entity. He directed the new CEO and officials for reducing line losses and further improvement in the recovery. BoD said that they will extend their co operation to CEO.
During the meeting, the Chief Executive, PESCO Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai gave a comprehensive Presentation to the board about the performance of the company. He said that they have to provide maximum facilities to public and every employee of the PESCO has to adopt consumer friendly attitude.
The CEO directed all the field officers to hear the problems of public from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M daily and resolve on the spot. He further emphasised that Pesco's employees have to work honestly and with dedication. He said the employees with the bad performance will be dealt strictly while employees with good performance will be rewarded. A number of other managerial and administrative matters on the agenda were also approved.
Board Members including Chief Executive PESCO Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai, Col. Jahanzeb Khan (retd), Syed Musawar Shah, Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Qamar Zaman, Dr Amjad Ullah Khattak, Naimat Ullah Abid, Director General PR Shaukat Afzal, Secretary BoD Khurshid Ahmad Orakzai attended the meeting.
