KARACHI: Brisk shipping was recorded at the Port where seven ships, MSC Susannah, MSC Busan, Melbourne, YM Miranda, Lokoja, UACC Ibn Sina and Alliance Norfoke carrying Containers, Coal, Chemicals, LNG, Diesel oil and RORO were allotted berths at at Qasim International Container Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Pakistan Gasport Consortium Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Multi-purpose Terminal respectively on Monday.

Meanwhile four more ships APL Savanah, Al-Soor-II, Southern Robbin and Zoitsa Signal carrying Containers, Diesel oil Palm oil and Coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day

A total of ten ships namely, MSC Susannah, MSC Busan, Alliance Norfoke, Thor Brave, Melbourne, Sakizaya Miracle, YM Miranda, Lokoja, Kilburn and UACC Ibn Sina are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, RORO, Coal, Rape seeds, Chemicals, LNG and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 174,317 tonnes, comprising 145,317 tonnes import cargo and 28,842 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,792 Containers (TEUs), (1,274 TEUs Imports and 1,518 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Three ships, MSC Susannah, Alliance Norfoke and YM Miranda sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship MSC Busan is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Six ships, APL Savanah, Maersk Kinloss, Uni Wealth, GP Asphalt-III, Vera Cruz and Southern Robin carrying Containers, Palm kernel, Bitumen, Coal and Palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1, MW-2, PIBT and LCT respectively on Tuesday, while another containrs ship Contidarwin is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
