The Board of Directors (BoD) of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) held its 103rd meeting at Hattar Industrial Estate to facilitate industrialists in resolution of electricity related problems. While presiding over the meeting, Chairman BoD Malik Muhammad Asad Khan said that they are taking keen interest in solving problems of industrialists as they are the main source of revenue generation.
The board members including Chief Executive Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil, Colonel Jahanzeb Khan (Retd), Colonel Alam Zeb (Retd), Syed Musawar Shah, Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Qamar Zaman, Dr Amjad Ullah Khattak, General Manager Finance Anwarul Haq Yousafzai, General Manager Niaz Ahmad, General Manager Technical Fida Khan, Chief Engineer PMU Dr Amjad Khan, Chief Engineer Operation Muhammad Iqbal Marwat, Company Secretary Khurshid Ahmad Orakzai, Director General PR Shaukat Afzal, Director General HR Muhammad Saleem Jahangir, Director General Admin and Services, Director Material Management Altaf Ahmad, Project Director Construction, SE GSO Hazara Circle and XENs attended the meeting.
Hattar Industrial Association highlighted problems faced by them including under capacity transmission line of Hattar grid station, replacement of 45 feet structures, installation of larger power transformers, bifurcation of feeders and establishment of Complaint Office.
Chief Executive Pesco issued orders for the redressal of these problems on the spot. Company Secretary presented Minutes of 102nd BOD meeting which were approved after detailed discussion. Head of Research Department of University of Engineering Peshawar Dr Gul Muhammad gave a detail presentation about meter reading of meters installed at height, Drone Meter Reading Technology and on line meter reading system.
The BoD also discussed and approved incentive package for permanent disconnected consumers, replacement of old and sluggish meters, refreshers courses for meter readers and bifurcation of 11kv feeders. Chairman BoD said that some important ideas and proposals were launched with special reference to third workshop which will strengthen PESCO operations and increase its operational efficiency.
He said that they have to improve Pesco performance and to develop it as a Consumer Friendly Company. We have to reduce its line losses and improve the recovery. Due to these efforts the financial losses of Pesco have been reduced about 52 percent. Chairman Hattar Industrialists Association hailed the efforts and specialty thanked Pesco BoD and Chief Executive Pesco in this regard.
