The Federal government has released Rs 238.3 billion under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various development projects against a budgeted allocation of Rs 700 billion for 2015-16. The government has not yet released funds to ministries of Religious Affairs and Inter Faith Harmony and Textile Industry in spite of passage of five months of the current fiscal year.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms on Friday (December 4, 2015), a total of Rs 7.8 billion has been released for Railways Division out of Rs 41 billion earmarked in the PSDP (2015-16). The government released Rs 6 billion for various projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 30.4 billion earmarked under PSDP for 2015-16. The federal government has also released Rs 53.64 billion for Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA- Power sector) out of the budgeted Rs 112.8 billion while Rs 10.6 billion has been released for WAPDA (Water sector) out of Rs 30 billion.
A sum of Rs 29.32 billion has been released for National Highway Authority against the total allocation of Rs 159.6 billion. A total of Rs 427.87 million has been released for Cabinet Division, Rs 418.6 million for Capital Administration and Development Authority, Rs 75.12 million Communication Division (other than NHA), Rs 1 billion for Defence Division and Rs 35.5 million for Establishment Division. A total of Rs 5.7 million has been released for Aviation Division out of Rs 3.9 billion budgeted for this year.
The government has released Rs 330.56 million for Planning, Development and Reforms Division out of Rs 13.68 billion budgeted for the year. According to data, the government released Rs 3.33 billion for Interior Division for which Rs 8.3 billion was earmarked in the budget of the current year. The government also released Rs 420.6 million for Science and Technology, Research Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 1.1 billion. The Planning Commission has released Rs 1.64 billion for Finance Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 9 billion while Rs 883.52 million has been released for Federal Education and Professional Training Division. The Commission has also released 18.7 billion for Higher Education Commission (HEC) out of Rs 31.1 billion budgeted for the current fiscal year.
The government released Rs 6.4 million for Climate Change Division, out of its total allocation of Rs 39.75 million while Rs 119.24 million has been released for Revenue Division out of total budgeted allocation of Rs 335 million for current fiscal year. A total of Rs 6.9 billion has been released for National Health Services, Regulation and Co-ordination Division.
The government has also released Rs 2.2 billion for Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra), out of its total annual allocation of Rs 7 billion. A sum of Rs 4.62 billion has been released for AJK development projects out of its annual allocation of Rs 13.3 billion while Rs 4.42 billion has been released for development projects of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs 9.94 billion budgeted for the year. The government has released Rs 6.65 billion for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) out of 19.7 billion budgeted for financial year 2015-16.
