A two-member Chinese delegation lead by Zhang Hongwei from China North Industries Corporation (Norinco) visited PAAPAM South office. During the meeting, the delegation gave a detailed presentation to Mashood Khan Senior Vice Chairman, Mehmood Sherani Vice Chairman PAAPAM, about their intention of starting a commercial truck assembly plant with the collaboration of NLC.
According to them they also want auto parts that are required for the vehicles produced in their plant to be supplied by local vendors of Pakistan, and asked PAAPAM to help in finding and dealing with local vendors. During the briefing, the Chinese delegation informed that they have already supplied military vehicles and equipment to the Pakistan Army and similar products and commercial vehicles to many African countries. Mashood Khan said this is a big opportunity for local auto parts industry to benefit from this upcoming investment.-PR
