Met office predicts rain in Karachi today

The city woke up to light rain on Saturday after the drizzle continued overnight in Karachi with a moderate breeze and cloudy weather.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi’s weather will remain between 30 and 32°C with partly cloudy conditions. There are chances of drizzle or light rain with occasional thunderstorm at isolated places in Karachi today. Light rain along the coast is expected in the next 48 hours as per PMD.

Mainly hot and very hot and dry weather is likely to prevail over most parts of Sindh, whereas rain thunderstorm is likely to occur at a few places in Sindh including Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Hyderabad Divisions and Sanghar District. Partly cloudy condition with chances of drizzle or light rain is also expected in Shaheed Banazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana Divisions.

According to National Weather Forecasting Centre, hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sarghodha, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu, D.I.Khan, Zhob, Kalat, Mirpurkhas, Thatta divisions, Kashmir, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.

As per the synoptic situation of the country, seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan are anticipated and monsoon currents are also penetrating in the country.
