The Federal government has released Rs 150.7 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various projects against the budgeted allocation of Rs 700 billion for 2015-16. The government has not yet released funds to Ministries of Religious Affairs and Inter Faith Harmony, Textile Industry, Federal Tax Ombudsman, Information Technology and Telecom, Ports and Shipping and Prime Minister's Youth Programme.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, Rs 6.7 billion have been released for Railways Division out of Rs 41 billion earmarked in the PSDP (2015-16). The government released Rs 3 billion for various projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 30.4 billion earmarked under PSDP for 2015-16. Federal government has also released Rs 23.49 billion for Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA- Power sector) out of its Rs 112.8 billion budgeted while Rs 2.3 billion has been released for WAPDA (Water sector) out of the budgeted Rs 30 billion. The government has released Rs 14.2 billion for the development projects of National Highway Authority (NHA) against the total allocation of Rs 159.6 billion for current fiscal year.
A sum of Rs 207.6 million has been released for Planning, Development and Reforms Division out of Rs 13.68 billion budgeted for the year. According to the data, the government released Rs 1.57 billion for Interior Division for which Rs 8.3 billion was earmarked in the budget of current year. The government also released Rs 205 million for Science and Technology, Research Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 1.1 billion.
The government released Rs 5.7 million for Aviation Division out of Rs 3.9 billion budgeted for this year. A total of Rs 379.7 million has been released for Cabinet Division, Rs 117 million for Capital Administration and Development Authority, Rs 42.45 million Communication Division (other than NHA), Rs 85.606 million for Defence Division and Rs 27 million for Establishment Division. The Planning Commission has released Rs 525.65 million for Finance Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 9 billion while Rs 466 million has been released for Federal Education and Professional Training Division.
The Commission released Rs 1.72 million for Climate Change Division, out of its total allocation of Rs 39.75 million while Rs 57.62 million has been released for Revenue Division out of total budgeted allocation of Rs 335 million. The Planning Commission released Rs 14.65 billion for Higher Education Commission against the total allocation of Rs 20.5 billion.
The government has also released Rs 831.87 million for Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA), out of its total annual allocation of Rs 7 billion; and a sum of Rs 2.2 billion has been released for AJK development projects out of its annual allocation of Rs 13.3 billion. The government also released 201.4 million for development projects of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs 9.94 billion budgeted.
