As many as eight persons, including a woman and a child, have been martyred and 47 others, including 24 women and 11 children, were injured by unprovoked Indian shelling on the Working Boundary. According to ISPR, the Indian troops carried out shelling in Sialkot, Chaprar, and Harpal sectors. Kangan Pur and Bajra Garhi villages have been badly affected in the firing. Pakistani security forces gave a befitting response to India's growing belligerence.
Army Chief General Raheel Sharif visited Combined Military Hospital (CHM) Sialkot to inquire about the health of injured civilians. During his visit to Rangers Headquarters on the Working Boundary on Friday, the Chief of Army Staff stated that India has crossed all limits to terrorise Pakistan's civilian population while ignoring international conventions and norms. General Sharif appreciated the high morale of troops and civilians. He also commended Rangers for their befitting response to unprovoked firing by Indian troops.
The Army chief said that India has blatantly violated cease-fire along the Working Boundary and the Line of Control. General Sharif said, "We can sense a definite linkage between terrorism being sponsored by India in various parts of Pakistan and belligerence along the Line of Control". He said Indian firing and violation targeting civilians is highly unprofessional, unethical, irresponsible and a cowardly act.
