If you find you're getting confused because all your folders in Windows Explorer default to the colour yellow, check out the free app Folderico, which lets you change the colours of your folders to make them easier to find. The Windows 7 tool can be integrated into the File Explorer and offers a choice of 25 colours, as well as a variety of symbols - appropriate for music or movies, for example.
Once installed, just right-click on the folder icon you want to change and wait for the Folderico menu to come up and give you your choices.
