Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships arrived at Port Qasim on Friday 20th January, 2011, carrying containers at QICT, steel coil at M/W - 3 palm oil at LCT. canola seed at FAP.

Berth occupancy was maintained 57 percent at the Port on day where a total of six ships namely M.V Leo Pard-B, M V Pacific Friend, MV MSC Jade, MV Safmarine Nagami, M T Bunga Angsana, MT AL Soor- II, M V LA Paloma, MV Ataman are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, containers, steel coil, palm oil, diesel oil, rice and canola seed was handled at Port last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operations were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume 86622 tonnes, comprising 74853 tonnes import, 11769 tonnes export, 1322 (TUES) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

MT Pine Galaxy, MV Safmarine Ngmi, sailed on Friday after noon M.V MSC Jade, MV Pacific Friend. Sailed on Saturday morning.
