Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has warned the growers that seasonal changes can impact the production of spring and kharif crops. PAD spokesman on Tuesday advised the growers to pay special attention to already sown crops and those which are to be sown. He also advised the growers to use the moisture present in land after disposal of wheat crop to prepare the field for paddy and use laser land levellers to level it.
He asked the growers to pay special attention for eradication of weeds and start sowing hybrid and coarse paddy varieties from Wednesday (today).
The spokesman also advised the cotton growers that possible rains may increase moisture in the environment leading to increased apprehensions of attack by pests so the growers should pay attention and carry out pest scouting twice a week to save the crop from sucking pests.
