ANF on Monday organised Force Commanders Conference at ANF Headquarters under the chairmanship of Director General ANF Major General Khawar Hanif, which was attended by Commanders of all Regional Directorates and Senior Staff Officers. During the conference, aspects of enforcement, intelligence, assets investigation, prosecution and other financial-cum-administrative matters were deliberated upon.
Alongside this activity, ANF carried out seven operations against drug mafia across the country and recovered 7.18 tons drug worth Rs 7.343 billion in international market, besides arresting six persons and seizing five vehicles.
ANF Peshawar conducted a successful intelligence-led operation and seized 4,080kg Charas from uninhabited area of Ghallanay, Mohmand Agency. As per reports, the consignment was intended to be handed over to some other Narco-Gang for onward transfer to Punjab. ANF Quetta in pursuance of an intelligence report seized 3,040kg Charas from general area of Killi Qandeel Segi, District Qilla Abdullah concealed at a deserted site far from the inhabited area, which was to be smuggled to some foreign destination via sea route.
ANF Rawalpindi acted upon a tip-off and intercepted two suspected Toyota Corolla Cars at Turki Toll Plaza, Jhelum and recovered 55kg Charas and 18kg heroin from their secret cavities, which were being smuggled from Peshawar to Gujranwala for local use. Three persons were taken into custody on the spot.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team detained a suspected passenger namely Abdur Razzaq, a resident of Gujranwala at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.02kg heroin, which was tactfully concealed in his shoes. The accused was scheduled to depart for Barcelona (Spain) by PIA Flight No PK-795.
ANF Lahore intercepted a parcel containing four gift packs at Call Courier Services Office, Kashmir Road, Sialkot and recovered 3.2kg heroin from the parcel, which was destined for UK.
ANF Lahore arrested an accused Rehmat Ali r/o Lahore, after intercepting him while riding on a motorcycle near Abdullah Travels Bus Stand, and recovered 1.02kg opium from him. ANF Karachi apprehended a local peddler Amir Bux r/o Hyderabad and recovered 5kg Charas from his personal possession.
Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.-PR
