Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that we are strengthening cordial relations with all neighbouring countries on equal footings, including with Russia for sustainable peace and prosperity in the region.
Talking to Business Recorder here on Sunday he said that in the past Russia was totally ignored but now the present government is making all out efforts to strengthen the cordial relations with Russia.
Business community of Sialkot was playing an instrumental role not only strengthening national economy but also providing employment opportunities to thousands industrial workers, he said.
The minister said that it is heartening to note that bank loan and tax default rate in Sialkot is practically zero percent which is a clear proof of the prudence and responsible attitude of businesspersons in their dealings with the foreign customers, with banks and revenue department.
The corporate sector of Sialkot has been more than fulfilling its responsibilities towards the social sector as well as the business community of the area was paying its special attention on the face-lifting of the city on self-help basis and set a role model for others, Asif said.
On this occasion, the Federal Minister said that Sialkot made Official FIFA Soccer Ball was being used in the World Cup which is a proud for Pakistan adding that other industrial sectors should come forward and play an instrumental role in producing high quality and standard products to compete the international market and to keep the national flag higher and higher.
The Minister urged upon the business community of the country to concentrate on marketing and explore new business venues for enhancing the export volume of the country.
The Minister urged business community to follow the footprints of business community of Sialkot and adopt the policy of self-reliance instead of seeking subsidy for catering their industrial needs and requirements as well as completion of their projects.
