On this memorable and historic occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, I pay tribute to all the heroes of the nation who played their part In making our defence impregnable. I also salute the armed forces of Pakistan, personnel of law enforcement agencies, and all Pakistanis including my sisters, brothers, youngsters, children and elders who have rendered great sacrifices for the sovereignty and security of the motherland.
Today is the day to thank Almighty Allah by Whose grace, the resolute efforts of our people and the timely and brave decision of our leadership, we became the 7th nuclear power in the world and the first among the Muslim countries. It is also a day to reaffirm our resolve to render any sacrifice for the motherland in the future as well.
It is the right of every nation to safeguard its sovereignty and security. Those who neglect their duty towards their defence risk their survival. It is in fact a strong defence that not only ensures a nation's freedom but also provides the courage and ability to stand tall among the comity of nations. On this day, I call upon my countrymen that even today, we are faced with many internai and external challenges and in these circumstances it is imperative that we discharge our duties and responsibilities with honesty, dedication and patriotism so that our motherland emerges all powerful on every front.
