Over 267,531 children have so far been administered anti-measles vaccination across the district Tharparkar. Talking to this scribe here on Tuesday, District Health Officer, Dr Abdul Jalil Burghari said that 267,531 children between six months to 10 years had been given anti-measles vaccination during the ongoing measles emergency campaign started from May 19 that will continue till May 31.
He said that Health department had formed 252 mobile teams to carry out vaccination. Dr Jalil told this scribe that the mobile teams were visiting nook and corner of the district towns, villages, bus stops and railway stations. The teams were directed to spare no child without vaccination. He said that the teams were provided security during the campaign period. He appealed to parents to ensure vaccination of their children against the disease.
