Woman delivers her baby alone in hotel room using YouTube videos

A 22-year-old American woman, Tia Freeman, delivered her first baby alone in a hotel room of Istanbul, Turkey with the mere assistance of some Youtube videos.

On Tuesday, Tia, a member of U.S Air Force decided to share her incredible story of delivering her baby in the hotel bathroom all alone with the help of some Youtube videos. The 22-year-old Air Force member had just found out about her pregnancy in January after nearly hitting the third trimester. Knowing all this, Tia still decided to take a trip Germany in early March despite being close to the end of her term.

I didn’t know I was pregnant for awhile (already in my 3rd trimester) and before you ask the birth control I was on made it so I didn’t have a cycle every month. So not having a period wasn’t an indicator for me. On top of that I didnt really gain any weight.

“I was in shock,” Freeman told HuffPost. “I never saw myself as a mom before. I was more career-oriented. That’s probably why I was in denial after finding out.” On March 7, she took a 14-hour flight to Istanbul and on this overnight layover en route to Germany, she delivered her first baby in her hotel room.

Tia shared every little detail of her unique delivery on her twitter account and described how everything happened. At first Tia thought she has had food poisoning from the flight’s food but later realized that she was about to deliver her baby.

So everything is going well no biggie but dawg this is a 14hr flight & there was a complimentary meal but everything had meat in it & you know I’m a vegetarian so I was like I can’t eat this but 14 hrs was too long to wait so I decided to eat the salmon hoping I wouldn’t get sick pic.twitter.com/9CfF4XzYzT

Instead of calling for medical help, it was then and there where she decided to watch a few DIY water birthing Youtube videos and deliver her own baby alone.

I make it to my hotel & now I’m sure I’m in labor. There is no way in the world I’m not in labor because I can barely standup at this point. So I’m in a foreign country, where no one speaks english, I don’t know this country’s emergency number, & I have no clue what to do. pic.twitter.com/sk6k10zdu5

“Not many people spoke English that I encountered at first,” she added. “And I didn’t know what the country’s emergency number was and I didn’t know how my insurance would work overseas so I just decided to DIY it.”

Tia filled the bath tub with warm water and grabbed two towels, one for the baby and the other for biting onto while giving birth. After a few pushes, she delivered her baby boy in the water.

So anyway. I strip down and climb in the tub. The internet said there were a couple positions that people find the most comfortable. I picked the one that worked for me and I was like okay BOOM let’s birthed this baby. pic.twitter.com/I6BabFMcCD

Not just that, the 22-year-old then went ahead and cut her umbilical cord herself, after which she cleaned all the bathroom all by herself despite starting to feel exhausted.

So I clean up the bathroom, breastfeed my baby, and go to sleep. No I do not go to the hospital I take my ass to bed. 😂😂 so the next day I wake up for and get ready to go to the airport because I already paid for the cab the night before & even though I knew I couldn’t fly out
