Brazil real gains more than 2pc vs dollar

imagesaaaaa RIO DE JANEIRO: Brazil's currency, the real, strengthened more than 2 percent against the US dollar in spot market trading on Tuesday, extending gains after the US said manufacturing expanded in December at its fastest pace in six months.

At 3:23 p.m(1723 GMT) the real firmed 2.08 percent to a bid price of 1.8303 to the dollar.
