Futures spread narrows 7.02pc

KARACHI: Trading activity in the futures market of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained subdued during the week ended September 11, 2026, with the futures spread narrowing to 7.02 percent from 8.69 percent, a decline of 167 basis points week-on-week.

According to the weekly market data, futures average daily traded volume (ADTO) fell 20.7 percent to 161.86 million shares, compared with 204.11 million shares in the preceding week. Average daily futures turnover in value terms also declined 26.4 percent to Rs8.30 billion from Rs11.28 billion.

The decline in futures activity came as the broader equity market remained under pressure amid renewed geopolitical tensions between Iran and the United States and escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Futures ADTO and value turnover both recorded double-digit declines as investors remained cautious amid heightened geopolitical and energy-market uncertainty.
