KARACHI: Trading activity in the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s futures market increased sharply during the week ended September 4, with the futures spread widening to 4.89 percent from 4.14 percent in the preceding week, an increase of 75 basis points.
According to the weekly market data, average daily futures turnover (ADTO) surged 189.4 percent week-on-week to 601.20 million shares, compared with 207.72 million shares in the previous week.
In value terms, average daily futures turnover rose 147% to Rs28.28 billion, from Rs11.45 billion previously. It indicated a marked shift in trading activity toward the futures segment during the week, with futures volumes and values expanding substantially while Readyboard turnover contracted.
