“On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan, I extend my warmest congratulations to the people of Pakistan. This historic day is an opportunity not only to celebrate the birth of a nation and its remarkable journey but also to honor the resilience, ambition, and diversity of its people.

“This year Pakistan and Germany also observe a monumental milestone in our shared history.

“On October 15th we proudly mark 75 years of diplomatic relations. However, our economic cooperation runs even deeper, stretching back over a century to 1922 when Siemens opened its very first office in Lahore.

“This enduring friendship is built upon three steadfast pillars: reliability, trust, and sustainability. We firmly believe that long-standing, sustainable relations create true partnerships and mutually beneficial opportunities.

“It is this shared commitment that has made Germany the largest trading partner of Pakistan and the biggest importer of Pakistani goods within the EU. Approximately 90% of these exports benefit from the EU’s GSP+ scheme, hence entering the Union duty-free.

“Looking ahead, Pakistan’s future will be profoundly shaped not only by its institutions and businesses but also by its women. Across the nation, women are leading, educating, building businesses, creating opportunities, and inspiring the next generation.

“Pakistan has been my host country since last year; the warmth, hospitality, and spirit of its wonderful people have earned a truly special place in my heart. I am deeply grateful for the profound relationship that Germany and Pakistan share, and I look forward to further strengthening our bonds. I wish you all a very happy Independence Day. Pakistan Zindabad! Pak-German DostiPaindabad!”
