KARACHI: The futures spread at Pakistan Stock Exchange widened by 639 basis points to 13.26 percent, compared with 6.87 percent recorded a week earlier.
Average daily turnover (ADTO) in the futures market fell 78.3 percent week-on-week to 150.88 million shares, compared with 696.73 million shares during the previous week.
Similarly, the average daily traded value at the futures counter declined 76.3 percent to Rs7.84 billion, down from Rs33.13 billion recorded in the preceding week.
Market participants said the decline in futures activity reflected a normalisation after exceptionally high trading volumes recorded during the previous week, while the widening futures spread indicated a relatively higher premium in derivatives contracts.
