China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, Uraan Pakistan initiative: China ready to work to implement consensus: envoy

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong has said that China stands ready to work with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and President Asif Ali Zardari as well as Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to deepen the alignment between China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and Uraan Pakistan initiative.

“We also want to advance the implementation of the action plan to foster an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, make good use of the outcomes of the China-Pakistan Political Parties Forum and to accelerate efforts to build an upgraded version of CPEC 2.0, jointly take the lead in implementing the Global Development Initiative,” said the Chinese Ambassador

at a reception held on Wednesday to celebrate the 105th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China.

He wished China and Pakistan prosperity, peace and stability. May the friendship between China and Pakistan remain ever stronger and endure for generations to come. And I wish all our distinguished guests good health, happiness, and every success.

He added that China and Pakistan are iron-clad brothers, and friendship with China is a consensus shared by all political parties in Pakistan.

Building on our in-depth study and understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, the Chinese Envoy said his country stands ready to strengthen discussions with Pakistani political parties, deepen exchanges on party and national governance, continuously enrich the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, achieve common development, and deliver greater benefits to our two peoples.

“We are delighted to see that our brotherly Pakistani people have also made new achievements in national development. In the fiscal year 2026, Pakistan’s GDP grew by 3.7 percent and reached a record high of USD 452 billion, showcasing that its macroeconomy has continued to stabilize and improve, he stated.”

The services sector and large-scale manufacturing sector expanded by 4.09 percent and 6.1 percent respectively, both reaching the highest levels in the past four fiscal years, demonstrating improvements in both the quality and efficiency of economic development, he emphasised.

Pakistan has also demonstrated a proactive spirit and actively played a constructive role by successfully facilitating the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States, making an important contribution to easing regional tensions and safeguarding regional peace and stability.
