ISLAMABAD: Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has decided to participate in the upcoming Local Government Elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and field its candidates under the party banner in every Union Council.

The party has also resolved to formulate a comprehensive strategy for strengthening and organising its structure at the grassroots level across all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

This announcement was made by President of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party Abdul Aleem Khan while addressing party workers during his visit to the Party Secretariat in Gilgit.

Following the joining of 4 newly elected Assembly Members after meetings held in Skardu, Abdul Aleem Khan held meetings with party leadership and notables in Gilgit.

Abdul Aleem Khan stated that despite having only a three-month election campaign, the Party received an extraordinary public response and secured approximately 86,000 votes in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that after consultation with the party leadership, a future course of action has been finalized, adding that the inclusion of 4 independent Assembly Members in the party is a positive development and a good omen for the future.

Abdul Aleem Khan paid tributes to the party leadership, workers, and members for their tireless efforts and active participation during the election campaign. He said that meetings and interactions with party workers in Gilgit, Skardu, and other districts would now be further intensified to strengthen the organizational network.

He urged party workers to begin preparations for the upcoming Local Government Elections in their constituencies with even greater enthusiasm and commitment, emphasizing that their hard work and dedication have enabled the flags of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party to fly proudly across the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Upon his arrival, President IPP Abdul Aleem Khan received a warm and traditional welcome from IPP Gilgit-Baltistan President Haji Gulbar Khan, General Secretary Fatehullah Khan, senior leader Raja Jalal Hussain, other party leaders, and workers.

Abdul Aleem Khan appreciated the services of IPP Central General Secretary Mian Khalid Mahmood and his team for their valuable contributions to the party’s organisational development. He also hosted a reception in honor of the 4 newly elected independent Assembly Members who formally joined the Party a day earlier. These include Anwar Ali, GB-23 Ghanche, Asad Shafiq, GB-24 Ghanche, Muhammad Dilpazeer, GB-15 Diamer, and Aman Ali, GB-21 Ghizer.

On the occasion, the 4 Assembly Members, accompanied by the party leadership of Gilgit-Baltistan, called on Abdul Aleem Khan and expressed their complete confidence in his leadership and vision.
