LAHORE: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Punjab Police has reaffirmed its commitment that, alongside protecting the lives and properties of citizens, it will continue to play a proactive role in the mission of saving precious human lives through blood donations. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that Punjab Police is further expanding blood donation activities under the promotion of community policing and pays tribute to police personnel and citizens who donate blood.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that Punjab Police stands shoulder to shoulder with the Health Department and private welfare organizations in the fight against thalassemia and hemophilia. He said that officers and personnel of Punjab Police are regularly donating blood for needy patients, including children affected by thalassemia and hemophilia, which is a shining example of service to humanity.
The IG Punjab, while directing the supervisory officers to organize more blood donation camps in all field formations and police units in collaboration with private institutions, said that blood donation activities should be further promoted to ensure the timely provision of assistance to patients in need of blood.
Punjab Police said that, on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan’s first and exemplary Virtual Blood Bank Centre has been established, which is proving instrumental in the immediate provision of blood to needy patients with the help of modern technology.
