LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) conducted 52 successful operations over the past two weeks as part of its ongoing crackdown against drug traffickers and smugglers, recovering more than 678 kilograms of narcotics and arresting 56 suspects.
According to the Director General of the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force, the recovered contraband included 514 kilograms of hashish, 120 kilograms of opium, 20.5 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 24 kilograms of cannabis, 138 grams of heroin, and 1,220 litres of liquor. Officials also recovered 10 pistols during the operations.
He said the force is not only targeting drug trafficking networks but is also seizing illegal weapons and liquor to support broader efforts to maintain public safety and law and order across the province.
The DG added that since becoming operational on August 22, 2025, the force has recovered narcotics worth Rs 2.556 billion, totalling 22.8 tonnes, reflecting what he described as an effective operational strategy and intensified enforcement against drug networks.
He reiterated that indiscriminate action against drug traffickers, smugglers, and other criminal elements will continue, adding that all available resources are being utilized to protect youth from the menace of narcotics.
