Storage of empty containers: Land around Deep Water Container Port declared customs area

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has declared an additional area adjoining the boundaries of the Pakistan Deep Water Container Port (South Asia Pakistan Terminal), to be a Customs area of the terminal for storage of empty containers.

In this regard, the FBR has issued an SRO 889 (l)/2026.

According to the notification, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 10 and section 78 of the customs Act, 1969, the Federal Board of Revenue has declared additional area measuring 59,371 square meters from the reclaimed area, adjoining the boundaries of the Pakistan Deep Water Container Port (South Asia Pakistan Terminal), to be a Custom area of the terminal for storage of empty containers and to specify the following to be the limits of the aforesaid custom area namely: The North area would cover Shahid Ansari Road, Oil area-KPT (155 meter limits); South area limits would cover South Asia Pakistan Terminal (Wall 169 meter); East side limits would cover Bounded by Sea & Fence (417 meter) and West side would cover South Asia Pakistan Terminal (Wall 377 meter limits).

This permission shall be strictly valid within the period of validity of lease of this land in the name of Pakistan Deep Water Container Port (South Asia Pakistan Terminal), the FBR added.
