LAHORE: On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, digital monitoring of the Eid cleanliness operation is being carried out by the Safe City Authority, while drone technology is being utilised for “Operation Clean” for the first time in Punjab’s history.

Drone cameras have been deployed successfully in narrow streets and suburban areas of various cities across the province to monitor the presence of animal waste and offal during Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness activities.

Monitoring of the cleanliness operation through Safe City cameras is also continuing in Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, Pakpattan and Dera Ghazi Khan, along with several other cities.

Drone surveillance for vigilance of the cleanliness operation is also underway in Chiniot, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Rahim Yar Khan and other districts.

In Lahore and other cities, drone cameras are now being used to identify animal waste and remains in streets and neighbourhoods. As soon as waste and remains are detected through drone surveillance, Suthra Punjab teams immediately reach the site and clear the area within moments.
