Sri Lankan shares fall for fifth straight session as consumer discretionary drags

Sri Lankan shares closed marginally lower on Tuesday, falling for a fifth straight session, due to losses in consumer discretionary stocks.
The CSE All Share index settled down 0.07% at 22,298.07.
Ambeon Holdings PLC and SMB Finance PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, shedding 75.33% and 33.33%, respectively.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 93.2 million shares from 210.4 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover fell to 2.32 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($7 million) from 4.89 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 88.5 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 2.28 billion rupees, the data showed.
