Iranian FM arrives in Islamabad for talks on regional peace efforts

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday night for talks with Pakistan’s top leadership on the evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, Araghchi is leading a delegation during the visit and is scheduled to hold meetings with senior Pakistani leadership to exchange views on regional developments and peace efforts.

He was received on arrival by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and other senior officials.

Earlier in the day, Araghchi said in a post on social media platform X that he was beginning a regional tour that includes visits to Islamabad, Muscat and Moscow.

The visit comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic engagements involving Pakistan and Iran over efforts to support peace and stability in the region.
