KARACHI: The futures segment of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a mixed trend during the week ended April 17, 2026, as declining spreads contrasted with improved trading activity.
The futures spread narrowed by 63 basis points to 6.26 percent, compared to 6.88 percent in the previous week, indicating reduced premium levels in the market.
Despite the contraction in spreads, trading volumes picked up significantly. Average daily turnover in the futures segment rose by 47 percent to 226.4 million shares, up from 153.41 million shares a week earlier.
In value terms, average daily traded value increased by 30 percent to Rs 11.70 billion, compared with Rs 9.01 billion in the preceding week, reflecting stronger investor participation.
