RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday ordered to unblock CNIC and restore one of the bank accounts of Aleema Khan, sister of jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, earlier blocked in a case related to the 26 November 2025 protest.
ATC judge Amjad Ali Shah, while hearing the case registered at Sadiqabad police station against Aleema Khan and others, also approved her exemption application.
During the proceedings, the defense counsel filed a request seeking a one-day exemption from appearance, which the court approved.
The court also ordered that Aleema Khanam’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) be unblocked and directed authorities to unfreeze one of her bank accounts. These orders were issued in response to petitions filed by the defense challenging the blocking of her CNIC and the freezing of her bank account.
Due to the accused’s absence, the defense could not cross-examine the prosecution’s final witness. So far, the defense has completed cross-examination of 17 witnesses in the case.
