ISLAMABAD/KABUL: Pakistan said Friday that 663 militants were killed and more than 887 injured during Operation Ghazab lil Haq, as the military targeted terrorist infrastructure operating from inside Afghanistan.
According to an operational update shared by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on X, the operation has so far resulted in the destruction of 249 militant posts and the capture of 44 others, while 224 tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery guns used by militants were destroyed.
The update said 70 terrorist locations and support infrastructure sites across Afghanistan were effectively targeted through precision air strikes.
Tarar said that on the night of March 12–13, Pakistan successfully targeted terrorists’ affiliated installations inside Afghanistan, striking facilities allegedly linked to militant activities.

According to the statement, terrorist camps and logistical bases in Kabul, Paktia and Kandahar were among the locations targeted during the operation.
Authorities said the strikes were carried out based on precise intelligence against infrastructure supporting terrorism, rejecting claims by Afghan officials that civilian areas had been hit.
“The released video clearly shows that Pakistan precisely targeted only those installations which directly or indirectly support terrorism from inside Afghanistan,” the statement said, adding that no civilian population or infrastructure was targeted.
The latest update comes amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban authorities over cross-border militant activity, with Islamabad repeatedly accusing groups operating from Afghan territory of launching attacks inside Pakistan.
Reuters ADDS: Pakistan bombed the fuel depot of private airline Kam Air near Afghanistan’s airport of Kandahar, the ruling Taliban said on Friday, stepping up the neighbours’ worst conflict in years, despite China’s efforts to mediate.
The overnight strikes also hit residential areas in Kabul, killing four people and wounding more than a dozen. In eastern Nangarhar province later on Friday, a mortar shell that Afghan officials said was fired by Pakistan hit a house in the Momandara district, killing a woman and a child, a provincial spokesperson said.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said the airstrikes in Kabul had killed at least four civilians and injured 14 in the Pul-e-Charkhi area, including women and children.
Afghan administration spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid vowed that the aggression would “not go unanswered”.
The strikes on the depot, which Mujahid said “supplies fuel to civilian airlines as well as to United Nations aircraft”, threaten to spark further hostilities between two countries that neighbour Iran.
No Pakistani airstrikes had been reported in the past week after Beijing boosted mediation efforts, including messages from President Xi Jinping to halt the fighting.
Drone debris injured two people in Kohat, said Shafi Jan, a local government information adviser.
In Kabul, residents said they heard explosions around midnight before bricks began falling in their homes and dust obscured their vision.
“I ran toward the hallway and started calling out to see who was alive,” said Homayoun, 45, woken from sleep by a blast, followed by the screams of his children.
