LAHORE: Tehreek-e-Bedari Ummat-e-Mustafa Friday organised nationwide rallies on International Quds Day to express solidarity with Gaza, Al-Aqsa, Palestine and Iran. After Friday prayers, rallies were held in major cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In Lahore, a rally was taken out from Nasir Bagh to the Assembly Hall chowk under the leadership of Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi. Scholars from different schools of thought, along with women and children, participated in large numbers.
Addressing the participants, Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi said the United States aims to maintain its illegal bases in occupied Palestine and other Islamic lands while normalising the Zionist state as a permanent power in the region. He alleged that certain Arab rulers had cooperated with Washington in pursuing these objectives. He said atrocities against Gaza and Islamic resistance forces were being carried out with American backing and financial support from allied regimes.
Naqvi criticised what he termed attempts to revive the “two-state solution narrative” and warned against threats directed at Iran over responses to American bases in the region.
Speakers said the participation of both Shia and Sunni Muslims in Quds Day rallies across the country demonstrated unity within the Muslim Ummah and rejection of political and economic arrangements aimed at legitimising Israel.
