LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) carried out a major operation against electricity theft in the Mandiali Pindi Das area of the Kot Abdul Malik Subdivision, uncovering power theft amounting to approximately Rs 5 million.
According to LESCO authorities, the operation was launched after two days of surveillance and intelligence gathering by dedicated inspection teams.
During the raid, it was revealed that the culprits had illegally installed a private transformer on the ground and were directly tapping into 11,000-volt high-tension lines to steal electricity.
Upon spotting the LESCO team, three out of the five individuals involved fled the scene. However, two suspects were apprehended on the spot. An FIR has been registered against them at the local police station, and further legal proceedings are underway.
The operation was supervised by SE Northern Circle, Muhammad Muzammil, and successfully executed by the team led by XEN Kot Abdul Malik, Naeem Qasim.
