KARACHI: The Indonesian pavilion emerged as a major attraction at the recently concluded My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony exhibition, welcoming a large number of visitors who praised Indonesia’s products and actively sought information on business and education opportunities.

Students and young professionals, in particular, showed strong enthusiasm for Indonesia’s academic and cultural offerings.

Held at the Expo Centre from February 6 to 8, and organised by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the 21st My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony exhibition concluded on Sunday.

Facilitated by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi (KJRI Karachi), Indonesia’s presence at the event was highlighted through an Indonesian pavilion, offering a spacious and engaging platform for visitors to explore Indonesia’s integrated promotion across the economic, social, and education sectors.

The Indonesian stall was designed as a one-stop promotional hub, welcoming Pakistani business communities, professionals, students, and the general public.

Visitors from diverse backgrounds, ranging from entrepreneurs seeking business opportunities to students aspiring to pursue higher education in Indonesia — engaged with Indonesia’s wide-ranging offerings.

For business visitors, the pavilion presented samples of Indonesia’s leading export products, allowing Pakistani entrepreneurs and distributors to explore potential partnerships and prospects for introducing these products into the local market.

The display reflected Indonesia’s strong manufacturing and commodity base, as well as its readiness to expand trade cooperation with Pakistan.

Meanwhile, students and young professionals received information on scholarship opportunities and academic programs offered by reputable universities in Indonesia.

Details regarding higher education pathways, cultural exchange initiatives, and people-to-people engagement were made available throughout the exhibition.

To enhance visitor engagement, the Indonesian pavilion hosted daily interactive quizzes with attractive prizes during the three-day event, contributing to a lively and engaging atmosphere.

According to a statement issued by the Indonesian Consulate in Karachi, Indonesia’s participation in My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony reflected the Consulate’s continued commitment to promoting Indonesia as a trusted economic partner, a vibrant cultural destination, and a preferred education hub for Pakistani students. The initiative also aimed to further strengthen the long-standing friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Indonesia and Pakistan.
