KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Thursday visited Malir district to take stock of the ongoing anti-polio campaign in the city.
A review meeting was also held in his office, under his chair, which was attended by all Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, EOCs and Health Officers.
He was briefed that 80 per cent of children in the city have been fully vaccinated. Out of 2.1 million children in the city up to the age of five, 1.132 million children will be given drops in three days.The administration, EOC and the health department are active. Vaccination is being carried out according to the micro plan.
The Commissioner instructed that no child be left unvaccinated.
The environmental analysis survey conducted in the city completed.
He was told that for the first time in the last three years, three samples have come back negative, two in the eastern district and one in the western district, while six positive samples have been found positive and the results of three are pending.
