Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Quetta, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation and ongoing internal security operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the briefing covered recent terrorist attacks carried out by what it described as Indian-backed, internationally designated terrorists of Fitna al Hindustan, as well as the swift and forceful response by security forces that thwarted their attempts to disrupt peace and development in Balochistan.

Measures being taken to further strengthen the writ of the state and ensure the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure were also discussed during the briefing.

The army chief said that no terrorist or facilitator would be spared, and that all would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. He stressed that violence and terrorism cannot be justified under any pretext.

Field Marshal Munir also praised the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of personnel from the armed forces and other law enforcement agencies for foiling what he termed anti-Pakistan designs and maintaining law and order.

Later, accompanied by Chief Minister Balochistan, the army chief visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta, where he met injured personnel from the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan, and police.

He lauded their high morale, commended their bravery, and appreciated their steadfastness in defending the country against what ISPR described as foreign-sponsored terrorism.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Quetta, the army chief was received by the Commander Quetta Corps, the statement added.
