PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and Air University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote advanced research, digital forensics, cyber security, and professional training through modern technology.

Under the agreement, an AI-based digital forensic software suite named “NigranX” will be designed, developed, and implemented in phases.

The software will enhance crime investigation, digital evidence analysis, surveillance, operational support, legal compliance, and decision-making within KP Police.

The system will provide a modern, automated, lawful, and intelligent framework for policing, said Inspector General of Police KP, Zulfiqar Hameed.

The MoU was signed by DIG IT Ejaz Ahmed on behalf of KP Police and Dr. Zonia Jaleel, Dean NCSA, Air University. The ceremony was attended by the IGP KP Police, Additional IGPs, and DIGs.

According to details, the agreement aims to modernize KP Police operations by integrating advanced technologies into investigation, operations, legal support, and training.

The first phase focuses on AI-driven research and development of a digital forensic software suite, including social media and specialized modules. Additionally, a KP Police AI Assistant Suite will be introduced to support officers in daily policing, data analysis, and informed decision-making.

The second phase includes the design, up-gradation, and implementation of a modern Learning Management System (LMS) to align police training curricula with contemporary requirements. Special training sessions, seminars, and certification courses will also be arranged for KP Police personnel at Air University.

In the third phase, both institutions agreed to jointly organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposiums on policing, digital forensics, cyber security, and emerging technologies to promote research, innovation, and institutional capacity building at national and international levels.

Speaking on the occasion, IGP KP Zulfiqar Hameed stated that the MoU marks an important milestone in transforming KP Police into a modern, efficient, and technology-driven institution, ensuring better, transparent, and timely police services for the public.
